Living in a society does not mean you plan to uphold its laws. It just means you plan to try and contribute to the society. Whether a law is immoral is always up for debate! Just because it’s a law does not mean that doing the thing the law forbids is immoral. To think such would be equating all lawmakers to gods. The law that says you shouldn’t walk around with an ice cream cone in your back pocket on a Sunday is still in place and stupid as ever and anyone who breaks it isn’t considered immoral or untrustworthy.

Some citizens work hard to change laws that are themselves immoral. Laws that allow or ban abortions for any reason at any gestational period can all be argued to be moral or not and breaking those laws doesn’t make you any better or worse of a person; it depends on the reasoning and the views.
