Misleading title, this is not protesting, what they do is witness the animals before they go into slaughter and show them some compassion and give them some water to drink, that's not protesting, these animals live horrible lives and what these people are doing is great, by showing them an ounce of compassion before they are forced against their own will into the slaughter house through electrocution or being beaten etc, these animals are dying from thirst so some of them get to drink some water, also it's good for these people to see what they're fighting for and why it's worth it. I imagine in the future humans will look back at this and be really sad and disappointed in how most people react to what these compassionate people are doing. Why are humans like this?
