Voting is considered to be a universal human right.

Gun ownership is NOT a universal human right. In most of the Western World, firearms are deemed as dangerous tools, with restrictions on their use. In the US, it's a constitutional right.

However, the only extra weight added by being a constitutional right is a stamp-of-approval from the founding fathers. It's functionally the same as other laws, merely being a very old one and requiring wide consensus to change.

The law/right having the founding-father stamp-of-approval doesn't mean anything, and especially doesn't make it infallible. A very notable example being Women's suffrage fixing a very large problem with the US constitution.
