Hmmm well when you put it that way...

I love how you saw, "you missed the point of my argument" and thought it said, "it doesn't matter when I'm wrong." You're nitpicking at collateral bullshit, and frankly doing so in a way that makes me think you're full of shit, instead of engaging with the actual argument itself.

And if Hindenburg really was a reactionary then it just proves my point that there was a strong nationalist under current in German politics at the time. In reality, he wasn't. He was a moderate who buckled under insane political pressure created by an unexpected strong showing of Nazi support fueled primarily by a strong under current of nationalism. But fine let's say he actually was. Then that means he was in power due to a strong under current of nationalism.

And secondly one of the belligerents against the second Reich during the German revolution was called the free socialist republic of Germany. For fucks sake you can't say socialism didn't play a role. It was the closest Germany ever got to having a socialist state. And by the way, their participation in it was a huge influence in why Hitler was convinced that communism was a Zionist plot to destroy western civilization.

But again, largely collateral. Because my whole argument is that Hitler simply rode a strong under current of nationalism to topple the Weimar republic at it's weakest point and if he wasn't around to do it someone else would've instead.
