I mean they legit took the most evil human in the series, made him a protagonist, then focuses the show on his two teenage daughters who never existed at all in the games. No Leon, Claire, Chris, Jill, etc. Like the only thing that made it feel even remotely like RE at all were a few monster cameos.

It's literally the writer's own RE fanfic. That's the major problem with live action adaptations, most tv or film writers will self insert their OC shit in the source material.

It happened to The Witcher and Halo, it'll happen to Bioshock as well. Even books aren't safe, both LoTR: RoP and TWoT suffers from the writers putting too much of their OC shit in an already established lore.
