You know, I’m an expat. I speak the language of the place I live in, but I’ve actually met a number of other expats who came to this country and think they’re better than everyone because they speak English—their native language. Most of them hardly bother to learn this country’s language, and then when people are kind enough to provide stuff in English for them, they mock the mistakes in it.

I really hate this double standard. When people come to the US (and probably other English speaking countries as well—a lot of the expats in my area are from the UK and Canada, as well as the US—thaw reaction to imperfect English is “LEARN IT BEFORE YOU COME HERE”

But here, these same people don’t bother to learn the language and then belittle people for making English mistakes. It sucks.
