How do you deal with tinnitus?

It depends if it’s neurological tinnitus or mechanical tinnitus. The ear can have problems related to all the moving parts. This kind of tinnitus can often be reversed. Neurological tinnitus as a result of exposure to ototoxic material, degeneration as a result of age or illness is more fixed I think. There is also the matter of temporary threshold shifts of hearing. When your ear is exposed to loud noise, there are things it does to adapt to this level of stimulus. When you return to previous noise levels, those adaptions to the high noise environment are now hinderances. The best way to address temporary threshold shift in my experience is to take many days listening to everything at very low volume.
