When I was a kid just about hitting puberty, I was playing on the street with my cousin (born male) when I bumped into him and my chest hurt like a bitch. I lifted up my shirt and was confused to see a fat bump (I never realized it before, but it was the left one growing). I asked my cousin if he had one too because I genuinely thought it was from our bump, and was so confused to learn that it wasn’t because why am I growing something that he’s not?! Felt really weird being different from the other guys. Since then, I always wanted to have them removed but didn’t know why or what that meant until a few years ago when I realized I was trans.
