There is no way that I would breed any animal or avian without a confirmed destination or destiny for the progeny. I cannot stress that strongly enough.
To attend to your kind comments:
[1] Calcium and Protein: Done. Done and done, for around a year. The toll egg-laying takes is very significant. Basic chemistry.
[2] Nesting box: Done, for around a year. Standard Australian one with a concave section.
[3] Daylight? Sorry, the sun only shines as long as it does. Their indoor aviary is next to a window, facing east. Sun is presently circa 06:22 to 17:35.
As per the original question, is there a manner in which to encourage interest between the birds other than 'friendzone'?
If someone has a helpful answer I am very willing to listen. These several lectures about topics and technique are quite tiresome. I just have a pair that don't like one another 'that' much. Good hints are appreciated..
