So how expensive does a book need to be before you think of it as a collectable and no longer a book to be read?

Don’t feel bad! We only live once. Enjoy those books! Granted that’s just my opinion as a little, broke college student, that isn’t a collector yet, but my grandparents were. They passed away before I was born, but I feel like I know them through their beloved books. I read them gently and carefully, with clean hands, never overtly stretching the spine. They kept all their books in pristine condition, but it’s those books that have slight wear and tear to them or sometimes a little inscription inside that I value the most. I like seeing their little marks on the books. Just shows me how much they loved those stories which makes me love and value those books even more.
