How hard is it to maintain a good GPA?

Preface by saying I had a lower score than you and got a 3.9 my first semester as a CS major in SEAS coming from a shitty public school and having never seen any of the content before. It was tough transitioning but certainly doable. Measuring your intellect on a score isn’t healthy and you really can’t tell how well you’ll do based on that number alone. So like others said, once you get here, forget about that number forever. Some folks with 1600s struggled their first semester. Others with lower aced their first semester.

It’s entirely up to you: how well you transition to college rigor AND life, how well you leverage academic resources, and how well you study. As I learned, if you really apply yourself, getting a good GPA is definitely possible. But again, it’s really all up to you. And it’s going to be the exact same battle at any college you choose to go to. But I think Columbia is the perfect balance of good academics and good college life, for me at least.
