How to get into the grime scene when you don't have friends helping?

Start working on the music now. Figure out what you want to do: do you just want to be an MC (if so, one who puts more effort into freestyles/clashes or making tracks) or do you want to produce, or both?

Music isn’t made on the road; it’s made in either in a studio or at home. You don’t have to be from the roads, you just have to live life to have a perspective to speak about.

Put your stuff out there, inevitability at the start it won’t be that good. SoundCloud is a great place for amateur MCs/rappers to start, mainly to see how everyone else on your level is going. Aim to be the best in between them first. Leave the music videos, attempts to get on radio, events etc. for when you really think you are on a level.

This is just one way though, there are a million ways to do it and everyone’s path is unique.

Above all, make sure to have a couple supportive people around you, they don’t have to be roadmen lol. And no matter how many times you fall, flop, feel down etc. don’t give up, always back yourself when no one else will. Just having that will get you somewhere alone.

Good luck!
