I’ll specifically do it with the goddess, Bast, I think actually. I have worked with her since the day I started to practice. She’s quite reliable. Or I might do it with the Christian god, just to see what happens. Maybe both.

And to answer your question, some witches may feel as though they need one or more of the things you listed for the curse to work, but I personally don’t. For example, I could curse you with just your username if i really wanted to, because in a way it’s still personal and connected to you.
