Primary doctors are calling us for update etc on their patients to avoid their pt going to office or ER. Management is trying to make us see patients who are discharged home with “results pending” (why not wait 2-3days for results if is it not urgent). Some patients don’t realize how serious it is. They are vulnerable/sick, usually home bound anyway but a lot live with family who are out and about. Mgmt telling us not to wear PPE unless pending results or confirmed. If patient has cough we give them sugical mask. It’s about to hit where we are hard. Meanwhile my conservative dad thinks everyone is “overreacting and went out this past Sunday for St Patrick’s day.
