How would the US political landscape change if a ban was suddenly placed on corporations being able to financially contribute to politicians?

I appreciate your comment. Can you further educate me?

When did lobbying/pac's take over the political landscape? (It has become dominant, as a voter is always trying to research which billionaire is behind which candidate)

How could they be eliminated ? A law ? Would it have to be federal & state level?

How long would it take to clean up /remove them?

I read something anonymous, recently that a person wanted to run for a local position. He/she was told by their party he/she needed "x" amount of dollars to run. The party wasn't giving him/her starter funds.

Is this the norm now?

How can we ever get normal civic minded individuals to run with this system in place?

Thanks
