'Hundreds' involved in brawl outside Illusion Bar and Nightclub, Carlton

There are special rights, advantages and privileges given to everyone born in Australia and these are exclusive to those born in Australia.

Birth doesn't happen as a random act of chance, although it can be unintentional. You don't get pregnant just sitting on a bus, for example. If it is chance in that not every sperm becomes a child, well there is as much chance when it comes to settling as a refugee. So if being born is by chance then so is being a refugee who has been granted (as a result of the 1967 protocol, by the way - the 1951 convention refers to people born before 1951.)

What you are trying to do is infer that because I believe one thing I can't believe the same applies to another group. In other words, I didn't make any comment about anyone born overseas, but what you've done is pretend that I have taken a position simply because I have also taken another one. But don't worry, you're not the first person to do that. The reality is that it's you who are so keen to ensure one group of people is treated differently from others because they lack the same rights, advantage and privilege.

I was simply pointing out that abuse of privilege is abuse of privilege regardless of who is abusing it. There are those who never make a comment on this sub when someone of Anglo extraction commits a crime or is involved in a fight, but pounce with glee when that person is born outside Australia, with tales of how evil they are and how they should all be deported, and then they announce over and over that anyone who doesn't grab a torch, pitchfork and noose and join them in their indignant demand that the perpetrators be sent to hell is a terrible Marxist utopian feminist politically correct inhabitant of the leafy suburbs and probably a dirty hipster too.

Not only that, the knee-jerk reaction of these people to a news headline without knowing any more facts than a kid in a Chinese sweatshop, shows how they think a legal system should work - like an ignorant mass. (It's even funnier when they then quote definitions and UN conventions to give the impression they're deeply logical and intelligent people.)

Anyway, it's not me bursting blood vessels over this. I did add a couple of short comments (and this longer one), but no, I shall retire to a peaceful sleep and dream of happy things because IRL I don't have to spend time with those sort of people.
