But if anyone was going to be correct about Sonic in the context of what happens in the comics, it would be him. It's not like DC and Marvel where characters have dozen or so different writers and they all have what they want for a character. Flynn wrote around half the Archie comics (around 128 of 290) and he's writing the majority of the IDW canon. He's in the driver's seat when it comics to how comic Sonic is depicted.

If he says that Sonic and Mega man were affected by the Genesis wave, then they were. Because A) He was writing Sonic at the time. B) He was writing Mega Man at the time and C) He wrote that story line. He's correcting context. It's not the same as Ennis saying Homelander beats Goku.
