I think the biggest threat to our democracy is the idiots that we are electing to office

I disagree. I think the biggest threat to our democracy is the idiots who are voting.

A system of democracy depends on wise voters. Without that, the system simply cannot work.

People are encouraging absolute idiots to vote, and we are suffering the concequences of this drive to make sure that absolutely everyone (no matter how half-baked their ideas are) votes. There are places on the planet which actually make it the LAW that people MUST vote)

I am not in favor of literacy tests or the like ,to make sure that only people with a clue about how the world works, get to vote. All I am saying is... it's time to stop encouraging jackasses to vote, because jackasses vote for jackasses.
