What are your thoughts on people who kill themselves?

Oh believe me, I have looked into all of the available methods, legal and otherwise! Most are hard to implement.

Legal: for a dementia DX, the only solution is a trip to Switzerland; the laws in the USA (OR, WA, CA) are strict and require six-month to EOL diagnoses by two doctors.

DIY: The pills plus plastic bag method is not quite as foolproof as I would prefer and I am not brave enough to use a handgun. Helium and nitrogen cartridges suited to the task have become more difficult to buy.

In the USA, I expect that existing laws for ending your own life will be rolled back as the right wing regains political control and the Supreme Court remains as it is for the rest of my life.

So yeah. Was just discussing this with my brother. He is practicing acceptance, I am not there yet.
