if she moves in with me.

why were you paying back odsp and osap for the same loan? Is this still happening? The only time things need to be paid back is if they consider a "double dipping". On osap, people are supposed to indicate they are on odsp and don't receive the living portion.

Having you pay back both is absurd and a letter to your MP might help. There are some stupid rules in place. Debt on a credit card for instance should not be considered income. It is already being paid back with interest. This rule makes the cost of borrowing 100%.

WSIB should not be deducted dollar for dollar as another example because it is insurance on your ability to work and only part-time would ever be re-embursed, and some on odsp depended on their odsp and part income to pay rent and eat. It should be counted as income if the person was on odsp at the time of injury. These things can be appealed. They are intended to prevent double dipping and sometimes punish those who are not double dipping.

Many do not have subsidized housing and are forced to work suffering. I definitely think a letter to your worker explaining the extreme hardship of this obligation can also help. They do have some powers to overlook things under extreme hardship situations. At the very least a letter can ensure that you don't have to be harassed to pay back that loan.

If people are going to get inheritance, they really must use the Henson trust to avoid it counting as income. It sucks that people who aren't aware of this lose out
