I'm going to give my PCs overpowered magic items and I couldn't be more excited!

Branch of the World Tree

Staff, Legendary (requires attunement) requires Druid 1 or Nature Cleric 1 This staff can be wielded as a magic quarterstaff that grants a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it.

This staff grants its bearer a number of additional spell slots depending on the season: • Spring +3 • Summer +5 • Fall +3 • Winter +1

Through the staff, the bearer may cast the following spells as though they were prepared:

  • Barkskin
  • Locate Animals or Plants
  • Speak With Plants
  • Transport Via Plants
  • Tree Stride

It also has the following additional properties. When one of these properties is used, it can't be used again until the next dawn.

Animate Tree: The Cleric or Druid magically animates one tree it can see within 60 feet of it. This tree has the same statistics as a treant, except it has Intelligence and Charisma scores of 1, can't speak, and has only the Slam action option. An animated tree acts as an ally of the Cleric or Druid. The tree remains animate for 10 minutes or until it dies; until the Cleric or Druid dies or is more than 120 feet from the tree; or until the Cleric or Druid takes a bonus action to turn it back into an inanimate tree. The tree then takes root if possible.

Healing Fruit: You tap your staff against a tree capable of bearing fruit, a number of pieces of fruit equal to your level fall from the tree. If consumed, the fruit heals for the following amount depending on the level of the creature that consumes it. The fruit remains magical for 24hrs. • Level 1-4: 2d4+2 • Level 5-9: 4d4+4 • Level 9-13: 8d4+8 • Level14-17: 10d4+20 • Level 18-20+: 15d4 +40

Polymorph Tree: You tap your staff against an ordinary tree and polymorph it into an ordinary tree of another kind.

Treantform: As a bonus action you shapeshift into the form of a Huge Treant for ten minutes, gaining the attributes and statistics of a Treant. All the clothing you are wearing and equipment you are carrying merges into the new form. When you revert to your usual humanoid form you gain two levels of exhaustion. If you are reduced to zero hitpoints in this form you revert to your ordinary humanoid form at whatever hit point total you were when you transformed into a Treant.

When you transform into a treant, you may choose between three sub forms of Treant for additional benefits:

Ironwood Tree: While in this form your AC improves by +2 and you’re no longer vulnerable to fire.

Mana Tree: While in this form your spell attack bonus and spell DC is improved by +2. Whenever you deal damage with a spell, you may roll one of the spell’s damage dice an additional time and add it to the damage.

Tree of Life: While in this form all healing you do is doubled.
