I'm struggling in my 3rd year don't know if I can finish my degree without my mental health hitting rock bottom. Looking for some opinions

I got third year discounted due to being diagnosed with depression. Everything was a mess and life seemed hopeless but now im still on track to get a 2:1 after a year of absolute graft and the formations of beneficial habits.

The first thing you have to ask yourself is why your doing engineering in the first place. Be honest with yourself because no one i know is in it for the money.

Go outside more. Supplement with vitamin D if your not already. Go on a walk round campus or something. If your fit enough go to the gym, the endorphins released is mental.

Talk to someone: doesnt matter who, just explaining your issues to someone that you can trust does the world of good.

Make your bed: seems small but its one achievement everyday you can click off, and coming home to a made bed makes bedtime amazing so that you actually want to go to bed at a reasonable hour.

Sleep: if you stay up late every night playing games, or laying on your-bed watching shite on youtube then stop. Establish a routine, doesn’t matter when. For me its 10-2am not perfect but it works for me and something i can stick too.

Clean your room fully once a week / change sheets every 2 weeks. Having a clean room is amazing especially if you study in your room.

Studying: lecture notes -> tutorial problems-> past exam papers. Don’t think you can cram a semesters worth of information in a day now. Studying engineering isn’t about being smart, everyone around you joked about in high school. Its about putting in the work day after day; persistence! Also get a study timer app, i use the trees one, if your a data nerd like me then this is a major key for charting progress.

Catch alls; read more. Mediatate, id recommend the headspace app. Eat like you would if you really loved yourself, eat like shit feel like shit. Intermediate fasting has done me wonders physically and mentally

Really don’t know how applicable this is to your or to anyone just sharing things that have helped me get through this year.
