Imagine living in a country where you need personal armed guards to protect your child at school.

I don't understand why people still won't agree that its guns that are main issue in this country. The DoI was written almost 300 years ago and it could not have foreshadowed the technological advances that have been made with guns

I don't understand why people think semi-auto guns weren't around when the DoI was written.

Guns were used in wars as far back as the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Semi-auto functioning handguns have been around since the 1400's too, in the form of revolvers.

When the second amendment was written, private citizens not affiliated with the army were allowed to own cannons. You could even mount them on your own personal war ship.

The idea that the founding fathers wouldn't be ok with a glock 19 and an AR in the average joes personal armory is absolutely laughable, and is 100% without historical basis.
