While I agree, it could be construed as offense, if you look at what he’s saying logically, it kind of agrees with a pro-government progressive left mentality (where people at universities and at bigger accounting firms tend to lean).

A gross simplification, but the progressive left tends to favor more laws and government because it feels the stronger and more predatory will prey on the weaker and more vulnerable.

Not a sentiment I agree with logically, but that’s what his narrative above gets out: without government and laws there’d be more rape victims than there are now.
