Individuals with radical beliefs have issues in metacognition concerning the evaluation of incorrect beliefs

Widening polarization about political, religious, and scientific issues threatens open societies, leading to entrenchment of beliefs, reduced mutual understanding, and a pervasive negativity surrounding the very idea of consensus.

This opening phrase is loaded with left-leaning dogma, proposing ”deliberative democracy” as formuated by an elite, whose ”consensus” should just be followed by the masses without questioning.

”Consensus society” and ”open society” are completely incompatable. An open society requires polarization. Democracy requires polaraization. You need polarization to have competition of ideas, to have political alternatives to choose from.

Consensus is for dictatorships, whether it is the regular communist/fascist one, or the ”global despotism” of elitist government so cherished by the truly radical climate saviors.
