I’m not the one getting worked up about this though, you are. You were somehow offended at the original comment, I merely clarified why there is scope for saying what OP said. Since then your tone has been at a constant rate of escalation, and yet you keep responding as well. As though somehow screaming the same thing louder will get your point across better. In the process, you also called me a yank (again I’m not American) got some reason while at the same time getting pissed off about a discussion involving an American show. Lot to unpack there as it is.

Let me make myself clear yet again. I have no problem with a British character making British references in a show set in Britain. At the same time, in the real world we live in Britain is not the centre of the world, as hard as that might be to digest given the colonial history. Consequently, as a third person viewing the show, it’s perfectly alright to call a British reference obscure. People have their own perspectives. You have yours, I have mine (not yank) and OP has theirs (may or may not be yank). Statistically speaking, you’ll find more people in the world who will find a British reference obscure than otherwise.
