There's also the assumption that someone or a couple with a more prominent career might not want to take the risk of being "found out" for a more niche lifestyle, but if anything, I think it's more so a brazenness for these sort of people where even if they were found out, it wouldn't affect their careers or lives anyway, because they're above it all, so to speak. For example, one couple I encountered were poly and included a man who was a state prosecutor and his wife came from a family of prominent politicians and business people who regularly rubbed elbows with very important people. She didn't work a real job because her husband made enough, and she probably had her own generational wealth, too.
