Isreal and Arab wars during cold war

OK, I'll play along.

You are correct there are many people in Israel who do not want a 2 state solution. There are however still people in the Israeli government who still want to make it work. Since Hamas has taken control of Gaza in 2007 they never even mentioned the 2 state solution until 2014.

In your first post you mentioned the U.S. gives vast amounts of money to Israel. Who funds Hamas? You can't dismiss them as just terrorists, which they are, when they are the one's who currently govern Gaza. How is Israel supposed to "make the first step" when Iran wants to continue it's proxy war with Israel? Iran doesn't care about Gaza, I don't believe Hamas cares about Gaza, and until they find another group to govern them there will be no negotiations that won't be torpedoed by Iran. How does Israel negotiate with Hamas when they doesn't even recognize their right to exist? At least the U.S. has tried to bring Fatah or PLO and Israel to the table to come to some kind of solution.

With this type of question there is no middle ground everyone eventually "picks a side", but at least present your argument with facts. I try to be objective when talking about this subject, as I believe Israel has made some terrible mistakes when it comes to how they have handled Gaza, but they were also attacked numerous times both from Arab countries, and attacks originating from Gaza. These attacks have been happening long since before the 1st Intifada, so it's hard for me to accept the only reason they still occur is because of the blockade. Which though they say they can't get building materials and food through, they still haven't had a problem getting weapons through.

OP sorry your thread has been hijacked, and I won't be able to Skype, but this is a fascinating and ever changing subject, something you should definitely research yourself. It's not hard to find information on the subject and your presentation will be better for it.
