'I tend to agree with you on a technicality'

Alright then, let's go to the Cambridge dictionary definitions on invasion and get real technical.

an occasion when an army or country uses force to enter and take control of another country

William of Orange did not use force to enter or take control of the country, he was given control by parliament irrespective of his army which of course was not in England when he was invited to take the throne.

an occasion when a large number of people or things come to a place in an annoying and unwanted way

William of Orange was not unwanted, he was specifically asked to come to London and take the throne.

an action or process that affects someone's life in an unpleasant and unwanted way

This doesn't seem applicable.

This is absolute not a 'circlejerk of Brits bragging about their supposedly nearly spotless record of being invaded', I am attempting to clarify historical reality. This entire chain was actually started about an American bragging about successfully invading England. The fact the we were lucky enough to be on one side of the channel is pure chance but don't be an asshole.

I don't care if you have some problem with my country, but history is history.
