I hadn’t thought about the absence of his friends but now that you point it out I’m split on this one a few ways, but I don’t know much about Jack.
Maybe only Indy’s friends wanted to/could come two days early, and Jack’s friends are just coming today/tomorrow? Whether because the traveling didn’t work out with his friends, they couldn’t afford a longer trip, or they just wanted to get their own hotel and not stay at the venue. Or maybe his friends were invited but there isn’t room for their partners/the partners aren’t a part of the group, so they were like “i can’t stay with you guys beforehand but me and partner will show up for the wedding”.
Maybe Jack’s friends are down for it all, but Jack’s friends partners don’t like Indy? (My boyfriend has a friend whose partner I refuse to be around. I think the friend is fine, but I absolutely despise her boyfriend. If they got married, i really don’t know if I would go or not. And if I didn’t go, I’m not sure that my boyfriend would go without me, especially if travel was involved). So maybe Jack’s friend’s have girlfriends that Indy doesn’t get along with, and that means Jack’s friends aren’t coming, cause their partners aren’t coming or weren’t invited.
Or maybe it is just about Indy, and since it’s “small and intimate” she was like “I need more guests than you, I’m closer to my friends than you are to yours” type of thing. Maybe he’s been isolated from his friends (whether it’s because of Indy or his own problems).
I’ve been with my boyfriend for five years and if we got married, he would 1000% want his friends there, and he would have more people than me. I have one sister and like two real friends, he has a huge family and a TON of friends that adore him. Indy’s stories are probably what the nights before our wedding would look like- I’d have like one friend there, while all his would show up to party, so it would look like it was all about him, but really it’s just that I don’t have the same amount of people in my corner. So maybe that’s their situation?
Who knows but I wish I could be a fly on the wall lol
