I watched a documentary about the children of high ranking nazis. I believe its on youtube. Many changed their names. A son and daughter of Goering have both refused to have children in part to atone for their fathers sins, they felt that his bloodline didnt deserve to continue, which I thought was kind of unfortunately ironic. The nazi view of your blood deciding your worth as a human being was one of their more destructive views, and they ended up following that line of reasoning. I understand why they did it, but still.
A son of Hans Frank has written books castigating his father and spends his time speaking to schoolchildren about it. He was particularly vicious in his denunciations and is a good speaker.
There was a beautiful scene where the son or grandson of Rudolf Hoess went to Auschwitz and was talking to a school group from Israel. There was a beautiful part where a survivor hugged him, which made him cry as the old survivor was telling him, "You have no guilt young man! You weren't there!" Others have changed their names.
Anyway, I recommend it. Its kind of eerie, being able to see the features of Goering and Himmler in these people.
