As Judge creates history, a look at baseball's best hitting seasons

Mookie was unreal in 2018 but only played 136 games. On a per 162 basis I think he was actually pretty close.

Per/162 would have Mookie with 214 hits, 56 doubles, 6 triples and 38 HR for 396 TB, 106 walks/HBP and 36 SB over 731 PA. (1.078 OPS).

Per/162 for Judge this year has him at 189 hits, 28 doubles, 0 triples, 68 HR for 421 TB and 111 walks/HBP over 720 PA. (1.123 OPS).

HAD Mookie played a whole season, it's at least close. Of course games played VERY much matters and you can't ignore the fact that he missed 26 games when talking about all-time great seasons. (I hate when people act as if missing 20-40 games isn't a big deal in an MVP race or something. If two guys are in the same ballpark and one has slightly better rate stats and one has more games played, I'll take the games played. It was fortunate for Mookie that Trout missed an almost equal number of games that year.)
