Just got this in the email. RIP.

Ah, of course. You know better than the man who literally has access to the actual number of Downloads. The number of Downloads is higher than what he said was the likely actual player base. He based it on how many would download his updated maps after every update.

Ah of course, the "man" which is some kid in his early 20s actually, surely has nothing to gain from fabricating this number and making it seem higher than it actually is. You know the guy is bullshitting when even the biggest dota community says that number is most likely wrong, yet here we are having this discussion with you because you're still too young, naive and stupid to know any better.

That is literally what you said. The reason HoN, Demigod etc weren't as successful is because they were spinoffs. You are literally building my argument for me.

Point me to where I said that you dumbfuck. The one time I mentioned the word "succeed" it had Dota 2 in the very same sentence. You're still trying to understand why I mentioned those games that came out before Dota2 huh? Keep trying, son. Maybe after attempt #10 it may finally dawn on you. LOL

Because you never could buy it. Also, people tend to dislike paying for something that will be free, so it's still a terrible argument regardless.

You never could buy it? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. I remember it was 40 USD on Steam. I bet they had great success, with all the billions of dotatards rushing in to buy the beta HAHAHAHAHAH. And it was on for quite some time, meaning that if you were really hardcore fan you would have probably bought your way in. And still there were so few people that Valve had to drop that idea of milking the great Dota2 and flood their platform users with free betakeys. That's how millions of people ended up invited to the beta without even having a clue about what Dota2 is. But oh wait I forgot, Steam never helped Dota2 to become big, it was the other way around HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.

Ah, I got the patch names wrong. How horrible of me. And, they might have continued to copy the general direction of the meta, however they aren't directly copy and pasting any further.

Maybe because Dota2 is now something that can be legally protected due to trademarks and copyrights, while Dota wasn't? Oh no wait, I forgot that IceFrog owned the name Dota, he was just too lazy to sue and protect his "baby" LOL.

Because he was directly working with them at S2. This was proved at the time, via a tax deductible donation made from an S2 employee named Abdul++. I'll dig up the old posts if you're unable to.

I've heard of that, I've also heard of him being declined a job at Riot. Why didn't they with S2 realize how much money they could make if they called it Dota2. If only. :( I guess they aren't as big as Valve and fear the wrath of Blizzard huh? So in the end I guess if Valve can afford bypassing a company like Blizzard, how could they not bypass some small, insignificant fan modder like IceFrog? Or am I making too much sense again?

Why didn't Blizzard just copy Dota then? Make it the exact same as D.O.T.A with the original names and iconic heroes?

You do know that Dota isn't using the original names of the iconic heroes, right? HotS does. They purposefully changed the name of the heroes for Dota to not resemble the ones from Blizzard's lore. It would be extremely retarded if Blizzard didn't use their most renown heroes such as Zeratul and Arthas but use some stupid names for them and make them look similar but not the same. Why would you even propose for them to use the fake ones is beyond me lol.

And why did they not just go through with the law suit? They instead went for a settlement not entitling them to use "Dota" within any commercial aspect.

Who is commenting on the case? Although Blizzard should have probably won, I don't give a shit. They woke up too late so you can say that they deserved to lose at that point. The matter of fact is that they SUED them. And nobody, ever, anywhere wrote or mention ANYTHING about IceFrog. Why is there literally ZERO information on the internet, ZERO sources about the "real" owner of the name Dota - IceFrog. It was all Valve vs Blizzard. It's almost like IceFrog is some absolutely irrelevant e-famous fan modder and doesn't own shit, huh? Fuck, I started making too much sense again. Sorry. I'll email Obama to tell him he should watch out from mentioning any word that might contain the letters "dota" or IceFrog will be all over his ass LOL.
