just some tips for a newbie!

  1. That really depends on the person. As for the most powerful archetype, again it really is dependent on the person, some people can be sniper gods that just destroy a map, however if you want my opinion on the matter, Shotguns I think are the most powerful, because they hold a REALLY good weapon option (the Akimbo Goliaths), as well as their really cool ammo choices (An not to mention, a straight upgrade choice in Buckshot). Damage for shotguns is per pellet, not per shell iirc, so the DPS gets insane. However, most importantly, if you don't like a shotgun, it isn't going to do well your hands, this game doesn't have a forced meta outside of Death Sentence or One Down. There are a few unreliable weapons that I wouldn't even bring into hard, but it's not impossible to do well with most anything. And you didn't ask for this, but Perk Decks are HUGE aspect to this game, and by far the most important choice in it. Not having a full 9/9 Perk Deck sucks.
  2. Not 100% sure, they bulldozer may have been damaged. Another possibility is that they are running skills that increase damage, for bulldozers mainly Low Blow (crits), Berserker (+50% damage when at half health), or High Value Target (+15% damage on highlighted enemies, +50% if further than 10m away.)
  3. Every odd infamy up to XXV (25) Gives you a cosmetic (mask, patterns, so on) and +5% (this goes up to like 7.5% past 13 iirc) xp, every even gives you +10%. The fist infamy gives you a -10% skill point teir reduction, so that you can reach the higest teir in 3 less skill points IIRC, it is a must have, and after 25 it is just cosmetics. In exchange, you loose all your reputation ranks (locking weapons back behind the reputation level), as well as for the first 5 infamy you loose all your spending cash.
  4. For loud? Basically anything besides Shinobi (Even then there are a few good skills in there). There are some trees that are more QoL in loud like Breacher, but its never a wrong choice. Jokers (Controller tree) are always helpful, and what I always get after getting the fundamentals of my build down.
    1. Stealth is a complicated story. You should be running a mostly full Shinobi tree (I do pass on Nimble and Cleaner aced, though sometimes cleaner aced is a must, and ECM's aren't as worthwhile, but ECM's are always nice if like you are finishing a heist, and need 80 more seconds (+12 if running Hacker) due to, any various reasons stealth can break in this game. Hardware Expert is almost a must, and I run HE, Drill Sargent aced, and Kickstarter aced (The kickstart works more than one time). As for weapons, I find a Judge to be a must. Shotguns can make corpses ragdoll like they do in tf2, and can be an effective way to forcefully relocate people in your way (to get a guard in a better place to answer a pager or move a civie W/O a body bag (of note: you can get guards into a position with the shotgun where you can't reach them like in water, however their pager will still 100% go off, so be careful.) And then for your primary you can run whatever. I run Akimbo Tatonka to kill civies without reloading, however choice is really yours.
      1. As for perk decks, you'll want to run 3: Hacker, Burglar, and Yakuza. Personally, I only run hacker because it's ability to shut down a camera or delay a pager for 6 (12) seconds is a godsend. Burglar just doesn't provide enough IMO, and could use a bit of a buff. And then Yakuza for speed, only take if you are speedrunning.
      2. Don't bother with any other deployables besides the ECM, Body bags, and maybe an ammo bag if you are running a saw. If you fail stealth, you are most likely fricked, so just reset. I hate the saw in stealth however so I'm not the person to talk about its utility. Sometimes however I wish the armor bag was replaced with a weapon bag.
      3. Playing Mayhem stealth is the same as playing DSOD stealth most of the time, so if you are doing stealth, and know the level and know how to with titan cams, just pick DSOD for the extra XP (you don't need to play OD, I just do for the achievements). If you are struggling, try Normal as there will usually be a few less guards.
  5. The Ai only have 4 abilities, Quick (A must have IMO) Inspiring (Also good, as the AI can have some, really REALLY awful pathing.) Piercing (A goo third AI option) and Sharpeyed (An inferior 3rd AI perk.)
    1. As for Boosts, there are eight of them. All of which are good. Accelerator is a must for me. but after that they are up to personal choice. Here's a link to the Wiki article on them all. You unlock them with Continental Coins, a special currency given for achievements and the like.
