This is par for the course for generation 3 in a tribal style family business where nobody has had to work for anyone but the family (if that) for like 80 years so people can behave like they are 15 yo forever because lying and stealing and throwing office tantrums and talking behind people’s backs are not really enforceable traditionally and they are slowly enabled by loving aging patriarchal and matriarchal figures like oh my god you have no idea how not unusual this type of stuff is in the world of non-neoliberal capitalism lol

This is one reason why The estate tax is such a horrible offense to me because in some cases $$$$ is all really messed up people who have suffered from hyperdysfunctional parents have, and they do a great job of blowing it anyway and it is much more likely to get into the immediate hands of local working people and small businesses etc than if it went through the government.
