If Alchemy's economy didn't suck, would you play it?

I withheld judgment when Alchemy was first announced because I didn't mind things like card buffs/nerfs, digital only mechanics, etc.

However, it seems that most of the negative predictions about the format have come true.

I'm not a F2P player. I would usually buy both of the $50 bundles plus a bunch of packs with each new set, but even I can't stomach the thought of dumping even more time and money into trying to collect Alchemy cards. The rares and mythics are just absurdly strong, and it seems to make the whole nerf/buff thing completely irrelevant.

I don't actually see it happening, but if WoTC stops pushing so many ridiculous rares and mythics in Alchemy, I might be more interested. I really do like the idea of digital only mechanics, but it's just not a justifiable investment to me at the moment.
