Kevin Hart is a crappy actor.

I actually really liked him in The Upside, opposite Bryan Cranston. Surprisingly good, heartwarming film, and his character does a great job going from the irresponsible, crappy, criminal father, to the shift in tone where he becomes the more mature and serious father by the end, and friend. I thought he put in a fantastic believable performance.

I think the issue with Kevin Hart is that a role has to be tailor made for him, rather than him fitting in the role. He just is not a widely diverse, career stage actor/artist that has made it their life to improve their craft.

But, for what he does, I still think he is really good even if much of his characters seem to have a lot of overlap.
