I'm not from the LA area, but I remember being in middle school, I used to play NBA 2K, but usually the editions that were a year or two out of date because I didn't come from a super wealthy family or anything, and I remember Chris Paul being on the New Orleans Pelicans. At this time I didn't really have a team, and I was trying to decide which team I was going to be a fan of. Pretty much all of my knowledge of the NBA was from the game, and Chris Paul was amazing, and Blake Griffin was amazing. I didn't even know they were teammates until I had actually gotten 2K13, and as soon as I knew they were teammates, I had grown really interested. I wanted to see a team win a championship for the first time as a franchise, and once I had learned about the shine of Lob City, the decisions made itself. I'm still waiting for that first ring, but this is the team I chose, and I'm gonna rep them for as long as I can!
