Ok. But there's no way you didnt already know that buying in bulk saves you money. This is formally called economies of scale, but like you surely know that Costco exists.

Why would you not consider how economies of scale affects government action? Things that you do a lot over and over again are ripe for this efficiency upgrade. Things like levying/collecting property/income taxes or training a police force or shit like building websites or distributing medical care or designing and building infrastructure?

All of this ignores that additional counties require additional elected officials (like county treasurer) and those positions are obviously paid and would add tons of inefficiency.
