Leonardo DiCaprio running up to Jonah Hill pretending to be a fan

It's a US thing to be a fan at the point of disturbing the celebrity. In Quebec, when we see some actors we salute and pass by most of the time.

For example, when the crew of the X-Men was in Montreal around June, I've seen them walking down on st-catherine street. Nobody was around them or trying to take pictures, everyone was only walking by and some was saluting but not stopping for them. A lot of big celebrities bought property in Quebec just because we don't worship celebrities.

The paparazzi/stalker culture is really made in USA. Maybe that's why the US got the biggest star. Maybe it's the way to create huge celebrities, by creating a sensation around them so they talk, walk, live as celebrity. They become bigger then themselves and the community just goes with it, buy the trend.
