Why We Let Prison Rape Go On

You can't really walk outside and just say this but it is a factual truth: The only 'rape culture' in our country is prison rape. If you actually understand what rape culture means and entails, then you realize that prison rape fits it to a T.

Look at the Aaron Hernandez sentencing. People are publicly posting and laughing at image macros about him being a tight end but becoming a wide receiver in jail. Never once has anybody said 'So you are actually joking and encouraging rape?' Nobody thinks twice about it because YEAH THATS WHAT THEY DESERVE.

But delusional individuals (I'm not even going to insult feminism by lumping their crazies into this group) believe that rape culture is what we have in society. Yeah, compare how we treat prison rape to how we treat actual rape. No rational, non-mentally ill person is making rape jokes on facebook or twitter when a news story about a rape comes out. Rape is not celebrated like society in general celebrates prisoners (esp. of heinous crimes) getting raped. Rape in society is not universally considered 'deserved' like it is for prison rape. Society continues to improve itself at determining and prosecuting sexual assault. Prison rape won't ever get this treatment because its...wait for it...PART OF THE CULTURE.

Anyways, fixing it is out of the question because of politics. No candidate will include fixing it on any part of their platform and if they do it while in office, they're literally cooking up a juicy t-bone steak for their opponents. Suddenly you aren't the guy trying to take another step towards reducing rape in society, but rather a sympathizer for murders and other unsavory types.
