Levels high in the morning

So for me, what I've done lately is continue to keep at it with my 22 units of Tresiba (long-acting insulin) in the morning every day. For the past few weeks I also had trouble with the Dawn Phenomenon (it sounds like this is what is tripping you up) and only til today have positive results come in. For starters, I do not eat anything past 10 P.M. (drinking water is always ok). I eat one meal a day and it is usually after I come back from a 30 min to an hour walk 6 days out of the week (morning time after I check my blood sugar around 7 am). I do not eat breakfast either, as that didn't really help much to combat the DP.

Whenever my sugars spiked to around 190 on my CGM (Dexcom) in the morning, I would take 2 units of Novolog to correct it, but lately going on the walks proved to be a much better alternative and kept my sugars stable for the rest of the day (1 to 1.5-mile walks/jogs). For my lunches, I only eat up to 30g of carbs (very important) which is essentially low carb territory,& for dinner, I don't eat carbs at all, but a small plate of proteins such as 3 ounces of grilled chicken and a small salad (just lettuce). After doing for some time (about 3 weeks now), last night my sugars went from 80 mg/dl to 106mg/dl, and maintain that level throughout. Now, after some careful deliberation (and prayers) it would seem that the proteins I ate kept my liver busy from dumping glucose into my body and as a result allowed things to stay pretty cozy.

If you don't mind me asking, how many carbs are you eating per day, and do you do some form of physical activity throughout the week?
