I’ve been type 1 diabetic for 25 years and I can’t give you any comforting words. I can’t say something that will help you along the way. I can’t even tell you that things will be alright when it comes to how you feel about being a type 1 diabetic. All I can say is that you make your future what you want it to be. You don’t have to listen to anybody. Just listen to what your heart tells you and live the life you’ve been given as best you can. Extend it or shorten it all you want. It’s your life. Sure, there are avenues you can traverse to make it easier (like seeing your endocrinologist from time to time), but that’s on you. It’s your life and the only one you got. Take the steps you want, listen to whatever/whomever you want, and be free. Fuck T1D!!!!
