Life as a new writer is trying

Have to try to remember that the people doing that have never written anything, and leaving a poor review for something they aren't qualified to review is how they feel superior about themselves for a few seconds. There's no reason to leave a half-star review on a story that you've barely read the introduction for.

A couple people here trying to make an argument otherwise, but they're full of shit. It's a free story, your review about grammar and spelling isn't you doing the community a service. You aren't a hero, saving everyone the 30 seconds of time they could use to figure that out for themselves and move on. All you're doing is patting yourself on the back by telling everyone else that if you had written the story, it would be better. But you didn't write it, because you aren't willing to put in that kind of work, so shut the fuck up. Literally no one is proud of you for the review you left.

The fact that RR even lets readers leave a review after a single chapter is testament to how little they care about the authors. The website has gotten too big at this point, and to be honest, it's probably time for a new one to pop up that gives writers some protections from nonsense reviews.
