It makes sense because the numbers related to communism didn't include deaths of other peoples resulting from foreign policy. That's all. It's not an apples to apples comparison.

There's been a tremendous amount of evil done in the foreign policy of the US and it's not to be excused at all.

But it's not literally the same as systemically torturing, murdering, and imprisoning your own citizens without cause. That's a different problem, one that's relevant for every country, even when they're not a regional or global hegemon.

This whole conservation is dumb. If you think you'd rather live in the USSR than a Western democracy you're beyond reason.
