A lot of people struggle to find the words to say these things without them being able to say it’s just the same as what the others are doing, and then even when they do, they get ganged up on because the bulk of the good players who feel like us are not sweating this stuff and not even noticing a lot of it while the poor sports are all trying to find a way to make sure they don’t have to improve. The players who are trying to undermine how an MW game is supposed to be are the kind of player who want the game to play like some other series. They want to play the popular game, but they want to nerf the players who play it well in any way they can in order to do so. All it leads to is a boring slow game and as you said, it ruined it for everyone else.
Players like me often do not have the time to participate like this, but this year I did. It’s like a perfect storm. My fave game of all time is back, and I know the psychology behind what people say so well that I can pick a camper out from what they say. I’ve heard it all before. Thousands upon thousands of hours in these games with thousands upon thousands of people all saying the same things in each given category with the ability to observe exactly how each of them play.
When someone says “run around mindlessly chasing dots”, I know that person is a camper who doesn’t know that we don’t chase dots, we use the information provided to direct us to the action.
I know that when people say “it’s more realistic, to slow you down” that they are a camper or crouch creeper - and not a new player, but someone who plays like that, in core mode, for literally years, verbally abusing fast paced players and saying “same game different year”.
I know that the people who say “more of the same, you’re not missing anything” is absolutely a camper because no cod has ever been just more of the same. If they actually played the game, they would know that they change drastically year after year, often times based on nerf culture and camper cults. Sure, advanced movement may not change the game at all to people who still sit in a corner... black ops is a completely different meta from the other two studios as well, completely different game. The nerf culture has pretty much chased off mw2 players and that’s why the game has gotten so bad. Mw is back. IW is back. No more! Maybe, in fact, as they like to tell us, maybe modern warfare is not the game for Them! They have had 9 years of games. They are getting realism mode. Possibly getting hardcore mode, too. They have many game modes. It’s time for them to step aside and give us the game we have earned dealing with their crap for 10 years.
How dare they say this is not the game for us: it’s modern warfare, the same game they began their nerf culture in 10 years ago in mw2. “Ump is op”, while he used his tube with oma and never left the one room that was his “spot” in each map. I’m happy to play with them and they need to accept playing with us or gtfo of core mode for a year. I didn’t care with other entries. With modern warfare entry from the original devs? Nah, that nerf culture stuff is over now!
