Madden Franchise Memories

I can’t remember the exact madden, I think Madden 25? I was playing as one of the terrible teams at the time, I can’t remember witch.

I had a legendary QB that I drafted who was a record breaker. He won countless awards and Superbowls, he was the GOAT. Physically, he wasn’t anything special. A slow pocket passer with okay throw power.

Unfortunately, he hit that age where he started to regress, losing throw power and attribute points but he did so well each year he maintained around a 94 overall.

I took a flier on a QB late in the draft as a backup plan, and he turned out to be a stud.

The young QB sat behind the GOAT for three years until he got his chance to start in year 4 when my QB was injured and out for the season. It was the best season we had as an offense. He had insane throw power and high speed for a QB. It was a different play style and he was fun to use.

So I had a tough choice. My QB could retire at any point, and I have the option to resign this young stud, but I probably can’t afford him unless I trade the GOAT.

Long story short, I stay loyal to my guy and let the rookie walk. He gets some insane deal in the opposite conference and lights up the league.

I make it to the Super Bowl with the old gunslinger, and we’re facing an offense lead by the new gun in town.

I Googled some sliders to make sure the other team was tough, and it was one of my favorite games I ever played. I don’t remember the exact score, all I remember is it came down to a potential game winning drive by my QB, and we pulled it off. Potentially the last start of my guys career and he went out on top over the guy meant to replace him.

The sad part is we left enough time on the clock for the young gun to march the field and retire the GOAT. What a way to end a career, putting the new guy over.

I don’t remember if my QB retired, but I decided there wouldn’t be a better ending to that franchise.
