I disagree with you both. I believe there might be a pretty small chance to get Crimea back. But the hardliner rhetoric of there not being a political compromise with territorial concessions is plain wrong. I personally believe that is the most likely scenario this war ends. I don't believe that there will be a decisive victory by Ukraine that they regain their internationally recognized borders. By then Russia would have likely used Biological/Chemical weapons with also a possibility of nuclear ones. I believe would hit the Russian nostalgic "great power" ego too hard.
