I've been dating my boyfriend since 4 years, we're 21. it's a pretty healthy relationship. his family is pretty regressive and he respects them a lot. whenever I tell him I'm not going to change my name after marriage or I won't spend more days of my holidays at your parents. he says I'll have to change my name and visit his parents more than mine. i don't even know how many other things "I've to do" . he has a bhabhi who's a doctor and manages to lead the ideal bahu and modern woman life simultaneously very well. he expects me to do the same. everytime we have a discussion on such topics it always leads to a fight on how I'm so selfish and i won't think about others and I've to do these things because society and tradition.
