So admittedly I don’t know anything about this policy proposal but is the idea that people who have children would receive a ‘child allowance’?

It’s a good idea in theory but I’d worry that weirdos and sociopaths would ruin it for everyone else by viewing it as a new money-making opportunity, pumping out kids just for the paychecks and keeping the money for themselves. What’s going to happen with a hypothetical surplus kids born to abusers and/or addicts who barely see a dime of the ‘child allowance’ and now are reliant on crime or state assistance to survive?

I’d hope there’d be regulations to ensure people wouldn’t be abusing the system that in turn, would hurt actual living children
